Bulaan Dalang Galii Naa Gan Ngaa Leen Duu Artist Residency
Bulaan Dalang Galii Naa Gan Ngaa Leen Duu is a 12 month artist residency for First Nations creatives on Bundjalung Country.
‘Bulaan Dalang Galii Naa Gan Ngaa Leen Duu’ translates to Bulaan meaning ‘together’, Dalang Galii Naa meaning ‘artists’ and Gan Ngaa Leen Duu meaning ‘learning and sharing'. We thank Uncle Roy Gordon for translating and giving permission for us to use Bundjalung language for our program name.
Developed by The Returning Indigenous Corporation in collaboration with Arts Northern Rivers, Bulaan Dalang Galii Naa Gan Ngaa Leen Duu is focused on supporting emerging creative practitioners, providing opportunities to connect, explore different art forms and mediums, and up-skill in arts business.
Workshops are facilitated throughout the year by established Blak artists and cultural leaders, offering professional learning sessions, time for self-directed artistic exploration and cultural workshops.
Each cohort of artists has regular mentoring sessions and work together to produce a public art mural on Bundjalung Country and a group exhibition on both Bundjalung and Gadigal County.
This program is supported by Arts Northern Rivers and Create NSW Creative Koori Projects.
